THE ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH TEACHING METHODS BY THE TEACHER AT SMP NEGERI 1 TINANGKUNG UTARA IN GRADE VII A

Abstrak

The aims of this research are (1) to know what methods used by the teacher to teach English in grade VII A at SMP Negeri 1 Tinangkung Utara, (2) to know the description of English teaching method used by the teacher in grade VII A at SMP Negeri 1 Tinangkung Utara, (3) to know the strength and the weaknes of English teaching method used by the teacher in grade VII A at SMP Negeri 1 Tinangkung Utara, (4) to describe the applied of English teaching methods by the teacher in grade VII A at SMP Negeri 1 Tinangkung Utara. This data collection was carried out by; consulted and asked for permission with the principal at SMP Negeri 1 Tinangkung Utara, interviewed with the English teacher in grade VII A and made the observations on their teaching and learning activities. Everything the researcher did to collect the data. This research was conducted among one month and two weeks, from 23 April up to 31 May 2022. Therefore, can be concluded teaching method is the method used by the teacher to achieve the learning objectives. The result of data that got by researcher, there are three types of the method that used by the teacher, among them; Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Community Language Learning (CLL), and Grammar Translation Method (GTM).
